Goodland High School is a coed, public high school in Goodland, Kansas. There are about 300 pupils enrolled in the school and the student to teacher ratio is 13:1. The school holds classes for students in grades 9 through 12. The gender breakdown at the school is 53 percent female and 47percent male. State assessment results show 92 percent of students are proficient in English and 75 percent are proficient in Mathematics. The school has a 90 percent graduation rate. GHS is part of the Goodland United School District 352.

GHS uses a Common Core based curriculum which is in compliance with the Kansas State Board of Education. Twenty-four credits are required for graduation. Sixteen of these credits are in English/Language, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Technology, Health, and Physical Education. The remaining eight credits are in electives. The city has several places of interest. It is the site of the Kidder Masssacre of 1867 in which a detachment of soldiers and a scout from the U.S. Calvary carrying a dispach to General Custer were intercepted and massacred by a group of Sioux and Cheyenne warriors. A historic marker commemorates the event. The High Plains Museum contains over 8,000 artifacts that help describe the history of Western Kansas. The Steever Water Park has a full sized pool and slides. Goodland has a wealth of outdoor facilities that include a sports complex with baseball and softball fields as well as outdoor concessions, outdoor basketball courts, children's playgrounds, several tennis courts, public parks, and the Goodland Community Garden. The Goodland Activity Center offers gaming tables, a weight room, gym, fitness room, and racquetball court.
