Mr. Layman, Bill and Martha; My current role with Goodwill of Coastal and Central Virginia is the Assistant Transportation Manager at 1911 Saville Row, Hampton, Virginia location. I have a business proposal that I would like to share with the Goodwill executive leadership team. Over the past three and half years I have been fortunate enough to be a part of an amazing company supporting its mission. While in my position, I have detected areas in which we are not maximizing our full potential in retail, sales, outlet, etc. In Addition to transportation experience I have a strong background in sales. For eight years I work for an auction company, six of those as Sales Manager. During the tenure we transitioned from live auctions to solely becoming an internet auction site. Similar to Goodwill Industries we sold various products (i.e. computers, household goods, etc.). Sales were distributed by commodities and we generated as many as seven auction sales at one time. In my role at 1911 I’ve observed our operations first-hand which amazes me with what we are able to do with donated goods, which I would like to introduce my business proposal. This would NOT inquire any additional cost and would certainly increase Goodwill’s profit margins.
