Gordon Ramsay is a chef who has made cooking his career but that has not always been his passion. He has some of the best restaurants all over the world. He was born on November 8, 1966 in Glasgow, Scotland and then when he was five he moved to Stratford-Upon-Avon, England. His father had a bad drinking habit and his younger brother ,Ronald, had a heroin addiction where occasionally he would turn up in the local news paper. Also his mother ,Helen, was trained as a nurse. He started off loving soccer and being a chef was not even on his mind at the time. Then he and his family moved back to Glasgow. He had to find something to do to replace the feeling he got when he played soccer. So he returned to college for a degree in hotel management. Then he he found a job in the kitchen of the Mayfair Intercontinental Hotel that he would later find out was the start of his new career. Then he talked his way into a job with a famous young chef, Marco Pierre which was an even better opportunity than the last. He stayed there for a while but then he moved on from that so he started working at the Aubergine, A highly rated restaurant.This restaurant would really start off his career as a chef. He had a problem to face and he did face it very well. When to him everything seemed as though it was all going wrong he pulled through and his life is probably better than what it would have been if he had kept playing soccer. So when he was faced with his problem he thought of a solution which was he went back to college to get a degree in hotel management. He thought of something else that he liked to do and tried to make it happen. So he started off with smaller jobs as a chef and opening restaurants and slowly became bigger and bigger. It was not easy because he had just lost something that he had loved to do and at first this just seemed a replacement and he would never get the feeling he got when he played soccer. Little did he know he would make a real career out of this and become a very successful
