Gordon State College Lawyer Career Goals

I always had this dream of being a Corporate Lawyer since age five. My senior year I made the decision not to attend Clark Atlanta University and to attend Gordon State College. The people around me mentioned that becoming a lawyer would be hard work and several more years of school. I got asked several times “Are you sure this is what you want to spend the rest of your life doing?” That answer still remains unknown until this day. Being a lawyer is my dream job but obtaining multiple degrees is my number one goal.
You have those people that have a plan then there are also you those kind of people that have a plan and they’re putting that plan into action. I like to think I’m that person that is putting my plan into action, setting goals for myself also aiming high, and never settling for less. Here is a snippet of my plan ; obtain an Associate’s Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Gordon State College, an Bachelor’s Degree also an Master’s Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Clark Atlanta University, and Emory University Law School for a course of three years to obtain a J.D. My goal as a student today is to graduate with my Associate’s degree within two years.

I choose the degree that I am seeking because this Degree can also be a joint degree with Criminal Justice depending on the route that I take in my core curriculum. With a joint degree in Sociology and Criminal justice after I graduate I could possibly land a job as a paralegal or a Legal Assistant. I think these two job will help me prepare myself for Law school and also becoming a lawyer. Becoming a Legal Assistant or paralegal to me would be a part of my process of becoming a lawyer. In these two jobs I will be learning and working for an experience lawyer while I’m still in school so that I could receive a Bachelor’s
