In this paper we will be talking about The Gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the records of the early church. The book of Matthew is the first Gospel, Matthew was a tax collector and one of the twelve disciples. The author of Matthew is unknown, however the writers of the church believe that Matthew did write it. We do not know when the Gospel of Matthew was written, but Matthew could have been written Antioch. The content of Matthew is said in the first few words of the book, “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham” (Matthew 1:1) There are two outlines that can outline Matthew. The first is close to the biography of Jesus just like in Mark and Luke. Matthew does not have a lot of individual characters but he does mention names that do not show up in the other Gospels. The author of Mark is no where mention in the Gospel. The first people to see the Gospel of Mark is connected with preaching of Peter in Rome. The Gospel of Mark sets the background for the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Action plays a role in Mark, it has no introduction except the title itself. Mark is a Gospel of personal reactions. The author of Luke does not give his own name, but does give information about the writing. The time of Luke’s writing might have been written before Acts and after the beginning of Christianity. The Gospel of Luke follows a timeline of events in Matthew and Mark with different additions to Luke. The material in Luke is set up around Jesus as a normal person who lived perfect. It has been said that Luke was an artist and he painted pictures for the early church. Not only was Luke a artist of painting, he was one with words. Multiple characters are introduced in Luke, Zacharias, Elizabeth, Simeon, Anna, Zacchaeus, and Cleopas. These characters are not mentioned anywhere
