During the past school year, I attended Tanenbaum chat Kimel as a grade ten student. Grade ten curriculum helps students realize and decide what they type of careers they would like to pursue. Students are taught 12 courses a year which consist of Hebrew and English courses. Courses include, Math, Science, English, History, Careers, Drama, Physical Education, Ivrit, Tanach, and Talmud. Courses can be split into different categories. Math and Science are subjects very similar to each other because these courses predominantly focus on formulas, application. Furthermore, these two courses share similarities because many formulas and mathematical concepts are used in science. On tests, these courses consist mainly consist of application questions and communication marks. This means that both have questions which formulas need to be used given the other variables, and are also marked on the correct layout of the formula. Another category of school would be one that involves less application and more writing and knowledge questions. Many assignments were related to the early settlers of Israel, Israel’s past wars, Israeli songs and movies about how Israeli youth live. We were engaged in Israel week and performed a play during Yom Haatzmaut. We had assignments where we went in public areas and had to conduct how we would act with a peer in the area but In Hebrew. This gave students a fun refreshing task, which was filmed and shown to the class, while learning and further elaborating our speaking skills, as opposed to a boring chart or oral demonstration. The Ivrit class had a fun atmosphere because students kept joking around with the teacher. We learned a lot to further pursue our language credit while having fun
