When discussing almost any topic with one of my four younger siblings, the most common question they ask me is “Why?” Regardless of the subject, from biology to computers, my brothers and sister have a profound sense of wonder, fascination, and interest. While it can be frustrating to answer their simple or repetitive questions, I always attempt to answer as best I can. I engage in this Sisyphean task because I was just as inquisitive as a child. I asked and asked questions, which instilled in me a love of learning and a desire to answer my own why questions.
I have always been interested in the concepts associated with psychology and sociology, even before I understood fully what those subjects encompassed. Even prior to taking courses in these subjects, I was interested how other students my age interacted, how they formed social groups, and what I could do to be accepted into those groups. My interest carried over into high school, where I took courses such as AP Biology and AP Psychology to better understand the human mind and the way that we think.

The power of a computer seemed almost magical to me; it was incredible how a box could bring the world’s knowledge into my home. My fascination with computers drew me into coding.
