When I was a kid, I used to hate learning Mathematics. The numbers, fraction, or coordinates was unattractive to me. Whenever I opened the Algebra textbook, I feel uncomfortable, afraid, and even stressful since I had to solve so many problems. As days passed by, I found out the reason that I hated studying Mathematics: I did not apply the appropriate learning strategies. Gradually, by persistently practicing solving problems, I myself have a strong passion for Mathematics. I could not imagine that I would dream to be an accountant in the future after I graduated from high school. After eight-teen years growing and overcoming the difficulties in life, I have discovered and understood myself more. I have done some online surveys to discover the different aspects of my characteristics. Based on one of the interesting surveys that I took, Type Focus – Success Through Self-awareness (2015), I am an ISFJ person. The abbreviation ISFJ stands for “introversion, sensing, feeling, and judging”. These features can be clearly seen while I am helping my colleagues to learn about a difficult subject. I feel happy and devoted to help people surrounding me. If I continuously improve the willingness to share and assist them, I can help my team members to complete the job’s project in the future. In fact, I can provide the clear structure for my fellowships as well as communicate to them better. They ensure that financial records are accurate and that taxes are paid properly and on time.” This simply means that an accountant help the businesses record and keep track on the financial transactions in a cycle. Although, the nature of the work seems easy, it requires “an entry-level education of bachelor’s degree with the median pay of $30.55 per hour and approximately $63,550 per year” due to the 2012 research as in the quick facts box of the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics. With the ideal salary, this job grew and will grow “13% as fast as average during 2012 – 2022”. In reality, the average salary for being an accountant is higher than this statistic. For example, based on the Texas Reality Check, the accountant’s annual salary is $36.16 per hour, $75,215 per year, and for people who have experienced, the salary they can earn in Texas is $90,828 per year. With this average salary, people can support their family’s needs and pay for the monthly expenses.
