My motto in life is, “Life isn’t about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself”. Although my life has included many pros and cons, I have always found ways to push through complications and allow myself to grow as a person. In the early juncture of my life, playing piano, basketball and video games were my major hobbies. I took piano lessons until the end of secondary school and discovered playing piano to be a fantastic stress reliever in times of need, as well as a resource to inspire creativity. Additionally, basketball has remained a pastime of mine ever since I can remember. I was involved with rep and school teams throughout elementary and secondary school. Apart from my hobbies, I took many great courses in secondary school and college that helped me grow into the person I am today. In secondary school, I took multiple Technological Design courses; this course was one of the main reasons I chose to pursue a career in Architecture. Throughout this course, I designed a pool house, modern home and created multiple models. Additionally, I enjoyed Grade ten Visual Arts. I was able to work with many subjects and critique them to my liking. The projects I relished in this class were creating a mask out of paper mache and a self-portrait in graphite. Furthermore, in college, I was introduced to a History of Architecture course. The material I learned fascinated me, as I studied about the different periods of architecture and how some of the same styles are used today. Also, I took five semesters of Structures courses in college. I expanded my knowledge of structural systems and how to design beams, joists and columns of various materials. Moreover, I took a Green Building Fundamentals course, which taught the different aspects of sustainable and LEED design. Outside of school, I’ve participated in many extra
