David McCullough, in his Wellesley High School Commencement Address, utilizes imagery to convey to his audience that each individual possesses the same common potential. While addressing the graduating class of 2012, McCullough makes a point to emphasize how unexceptional the students are. By bringing to light the fact that the students are all wearing the same “ceremonial costume…shapeless, uniform, one-size-fits-all” (McCullough 1), he illustrates the conformity of the crowd. By depicting the cap and gown, McCullough demonstrates that each student at the ceremony are at the same level.
Please let me know if I need to do anything in regards to this. I can meet sometime next week if necessary. Thank you, Leonardo

I am writing this letter to express my interest in your illustrious organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I am currently a senior majoring in Criminal Justice, minoring in African American Studies with aspirations of becoming a Social Justice Attorney. Born in the inner city of New York and being raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, I am not your typical Southern Belle or City girl. I like to think of myself as being a fine mix of the two. At a young age my mother groomed me into what she believed a well-rounded lady should be.
Michael McCarter, Todd Stevenson and an unknown Pi Tau brother stepped forward, the latter holding a video camera. Stevenson spoke first, his voice pleasant and inviting. “Welcome to the final day of Hell Week, gentlemen. You are one task away from becoming members of the most elite fraternity on campus. Congratulations on making it this far.”

Today we will be visiting the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial in Washington D.C. It was dedicated by Barack Obama and was established in October of 2014. Good times to visit are from 10 am to 4 pm. The must see list is The voices of the Veterans, the reflecting pool, and the star fountain & ceremonial flame. First we will be seeing the Wall of Gratitude and is a quote from George Washington from 1783.
Fraternities will be on one side of the walkway and Sororities on the other. Let’s try to keep about 8 or less people at your table at a time since it tends to get crowded in that area. Lastly, I have reopened the Rho Gamma Coordinator App due to the lack of applications.
We had the pleasure at our June meeting of greeting one of our distant members who has maintained her membership over the years despite having moved to Ontario. Pr. Meryl Cramp was welcomed then introduced to the many members who had never met her, and presented with her 25 year membership pin.
The train is on it’s way to the Dalles, we just left Whitman Mission about three days ago. John Adams has said that there are two ways to finish off the trip. WE can either float down on the Dalles or was can go around Mt. Hood on Barlow Road. I’m sure this decision will cause more controversy within the group. Today we reached the Dalles and decided to stop for lunch.
“Congratulations, Bob.” Ryan said to me as we came outside. “What?” I asked. Why was she saying that?

Executive Vice President Gordy Bratz, Honorary CSM of the Regiment, Ray Eagan, distinguished members of the 14TH CAV Association, families, friends, and anybody I’ve unintentionally left out—thank you for allowing me the unusual but privileged opportunity to stand before you tonight. Some of you may be wondering “Why did a 1ST LT get picked to serve as the keynote speaker?” To be fair, I asked myself the same question last week when my Squadron Commander, LTC Miller, informed me directly that I would be attending this reunion in his stead. Though I was excited to get back on the mainland, that excitement was abated by a twinge of anxiety as I thought about what I was going to say.
The student body welcomes you to the 2015 “Eagle Soar”. It means a lot to see former students of Northside come back to the place where they began their journey. Perhaps, the last time you were in this gym was during the reception of your graduation. Maybe you remember driving away from school that night, thinking back on all the memories that were made and all the friends you might never see again. Well, you are back and we hope you’ve reunited with some of the others you went to school with.
In the speech “Steve Jobs Commencement Address to Stanford University, Class of 2005” , Apple CEO Steve Jobs provides his audience with personal experiences and the rough periods he went through in his early years before founding apple that helped him succeed. With the use of his stories Jobs creates a character that prevails through obstacles and manages to achieve his goals, which inspires his audience to look up to him and show that failure is sometimes necessary to succeed. At the beginning of his speech, Steve Jobs begins describing his life with a series of stories that helped him reach his success, this helps Jobs create ethos because his audience will understand the hardships he went through to be where he is today, instead of just thinking of Jobs as the founder of Apple and not really knowing about the struggles he had to go through.
