Grainger’s mission statement identifies their leadership position. It also expresses that they serve customers globally that are diversified. They use the work cultivate meaning the company promotes and controls by power a diverse workplace. W. W. Grainger also markets it’s “most talented and engaged people” disclosing that the employees are there differentiation strategy. Grainger’s mission statement does not define its customers or products that they offer. Additionally, the mission statement does not discuss company growth, financial soundness, and their competitive advantage. The learning value component means to acquire information from both the successes and failures. The company defines the value of having fun by creating a healthy work-life balance and celebrating when appropriate. Ethics and integrity is self-explanatory, being fair and consistent in every encounter. Empowerment and accountability are taking responsibility for your own actions and acting as an expert in the industry.
