The development in sport tourism has made Indy a mecca for all things sports. Sport tourism can be defined as a travel undertaken for the purpose of engaging in a particular sport. This includes participating in a sport or watching a particular sporting event. Sports tourism includes events at the regional, national, and international levels. The facility is able to accommodate a variety of age group sports, but youth sports in particular continue to impact the local economy. Recently, the Baseball Youth National Championships has set a date for the ultimate travel baseball tournament to be hosted at Grand Park this year from July 28-31, 2016. 130 teams from all over the nation will be going head-to-head in one facility for Nationals (“Baseball Youth® National Championships – Baseball Youth – The Nation’s Largest Youth Baseball Network”).
