During this interview I learned that this job is very difficult since you are expected to make about 100 calls a day where maybe 3 people are actually receptive to your call. Every person I talked to said the exact same words and that was you’re going to spend the majority of your day getting your teeth kicked in and that is something you have to learn to deal with. It also seems that it takes about a year for someone to get a grip on the role and being completely competent. One of the major themes of each conversation I had was that this job is difficult, but if you're willing to work hard and want to work hard you will be successful. This company’s structure is also something people find difficult. The day starts at 8:00am and ends at 5:00pm. It is known to all employees no one comes in at 8:01 and no one leaves at 4:59. Although the company’s structure is very rigid, Granite loves to do charity work. Every Friday if you’d like to wear jeans to work you would $3 and all the money would be donated to a charity nominated by an employee. Also every year the CEO donates $5,000 for each employee and any of their friends or family members who will shave their heads or donate to locks for love to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
