At Grant Thornton, I started off my first day with a lot of orientation including Human Resources and Information Technology. I learned about the history of Grant Thornton International and Grant Thornton India, policies, procedures, corporate culture, people, departments, working hours, internal portals used for various activities and many more. I was informed that I would be part of a seven-person team providing transaction advisory services to various clients. The corporate hierarchy of the transaction advisory services(TAS) team starts with the partner followed by the director, manager, consultants and then the business advisory interns. This basically occupied my first three days at Grant Thornton. Interns at Grant Thornton are not necessarily given any work their first week and a half at the firm. The TAS team was charged with heading this piece as our partner is a car enthusiast. The other interns have already been working on this for two weeks researching and making reports. I was asked to assist the other interns in providing basic research with numbers helping the firm to predict where the electric vehicles industry is heading in the next couple of years. However, I joined the team when the interns were in their last stages of the research for this project. On Thursday evening, the director asked me to research and provide a stock analysis of four companies in his absence on Friday.
