The conversation I documented was during circle time. The children were documenting the weather outside. After the class agrees on what the weather is they chart it. As they were finishing the teacher asked the class, “which one has the greatest amount and which one has the least amount”?
The first student to speak up said “ Greastest is the one with the most and the one with just one would be the least “
“ Now class do you all understand what Jackson is saying”?
“ Yes, may I point it out to the class Mrs. Smith”?
Jackson was able to not only tell the class what he believed was greatest to least but also show by example. Many if the children understood more once Jackson presented by example to the class.
