I’m also the co-founder of Dow Jones & Company and I have developed The Wall Street Journal. My partner and I, Edward Jones, first established the Dow Jones Industrial Average in 1889. The Dow Jones & Company was established in 1882 and The Wall Street Journal was developed in 1889. I invented the Dow Jones Industrial Average as part of my research into market movements. Companies lost their value due to companies overselling their stock for much more than it was worth. This caused a series of events leading to slowing supply and demand, laying workers off, consumers not buying due to no money, and bankrupting companies to close.
Franklin D. Roosevelt: I’m an American politician and attorney who served as the 32nd president of the United States from 1933 to 1945. I am responsible for helping the United States out of the Great Depression by establishing the New Deal. This New Deal was a series of programs and projects that I and Congress created to restore prosperity to Americans.
I helped introduce and pass banking reform laws, establishing emergency relief programs, work relief programs, and agricultural programs. On March 31 Congress created the Civilian Conservation Corps that gave young men jobs to work on public lands, building dams, roads, and parks.
