My first topic/ issue is with the NFL and their team owners; the basic idea of this issue is how the NFL swindles the state and the taxpayers to buy them new things while on the other side the tax payers get bent over. In this article from “the Atlantic” it says how the Seahawks built a new stadium and the cost 560 million, 390 million which was tax payers money. They only pay 1 million for rent while the rest is just a profit to the team and the owners, the tax payers are paying a lot of money to build a new stadium while a lot of it is just going back into a billionaires pocket (Paul Allen). I don 't like it, I think paying guys millions to play football and act like idiots most of the time is ridiculous. Most of these guys are very uneducated
In the case, “Finale–Just Desserts”, the owner Paul Conforti has just implemented a new survey system in his restaurants. This survey system gathering data directly from their customers, rather than collecting data from a third party investigator. The information is gathered through the consumer’s mobile device while they are still in the restaurant. Felicity Klass, a data analyst was assigned to review this new data and determine if there were flaws in the great results they were receiving. Although the owner, Paul Conforti is the final decision maker, Klass is currently in a decision making position.
Studies say college football and basketball bring in millions while other sports bring in just thousands. By letting these athletes go straight pro that would open up the amount of people who would pay to get in , instead of giving away money to high
Setting The observation was conducted at the Panera Bread restaurant located in River Forest, Illinois at around 5:00 P.M. on Thursday on the 15th of September. When I arrived at the restaurant, I chose a seat close to the door so as to better observe people coming up to the counter to order. I looked around and did not see any children, the restaurant was mostly populated with college aged people and a few elderly folks. Approximately a half hour later, I observed a white, brunette female with a short ponytail, in her mid-thirties enter the restaurant with a girl of approximately five years of age with a similar brunette ponytail in tow.
Have you ever wondered why National Football League players, known as NFL players, make so much money? I think NFL players should continue to earn such high salaries for the reasons that follow; they entertain millions, risk getting life altering injuries, and create loads of revenue. To put the second reason into perspective, getting tackled by a 300 pound defensive lineman is comparable to getting in a car accident at 30 miles per hour without a seat belt on (Wisconsin Trooper Association). That can happen to just one player upwards of 20 times a game. National Football League players, known as NFL players; deserve as much money as they get because of how they entertain people.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have arguably the most passionate fan base in all of football, making them a marketing and business giant, however, these key strengths for the Steelers are somewhat counterweighted by their weaknesses. To the naked eye the Steelers really have no stand-out drawbacks, they sell out practically every game at Heinz Field, but when taking a closer in depth look at the organization it appears that the Steelers suffer from the same downfalls as the rest of the National Football League. NFL fans are some of the oldest fans in all of sports, these fans that are of old age will soon not be physically able to go to as many games as they once have, the Steelers have one of the oldest fan demographics. Season tickets are passed
Opponents say college athletes would be back payed for letting other businesses use their images, but they are already being compensated. Colleges that give athletes scholarships to attend their schools already pay the students by letting them get an education for free. In the words of researchers Ben
The National Anthem goes on every single time before a game begins. Each time it is being sung everyone usually stands up to show respect for America. While, news said that a few athletic players that have been sitting down, while the National Anthem goes on. This keeps happening more and more slowly because those athletics don’t believe that America lives up to that potential in the song as it once represented. As well as the incidents that happened with the police of excessive force being used against people unassertively.
Players can 't afford to have their parents come to the stadium to watch them play. If the athletes were paid they could pay the college the rest of the tuition and pay to have their parents come watch the game and shoe their parents all the hard work that they have been putting into the sport that
Getting paid in college would help teach these players some responsibility before they are rewarded a big NFL/NBA contract. Players could make just enough money to be forced to make choices that can pave the way for more responsible decision making when the financial stakes become high. Many players will learn the value of money and the responsibility that comes from holding down a job. College football player’s should get paid to play because these players put themselves at risk for injury, college football is a job, not p.e, and it will help players adjust to college socially and economically. Colleges and the NCAA can make money selling jerseys and other souvenirs that might include the likeness of players, yet the actual players never receive a
The NFL offers it’s player referrals to financial advisors, and they also require their draft picks to attend a seminar about said financial advisors (“5 Reasons Why”). In the article NFL Salaries: After NFL Draft, Rookies Get Rich, Try Not To Go Broke Jeff Carbone of Cornerstone Financial Partners states: “It’s the excitement of being rich. The biggest thing we tell clients is that it’s not about being rich, it’s about creating wealth, and being wealthy and maintaining wealth for your family’s life. ‘Rich’ is a flash in the pan. ‘Wealth’ is created to last.
Have you ever thought why college athletes should get paid? Paying them in college might help them later in life. Paying them will help them save up their money on stuff they need later in life. Paying the athletes will help benefit them and the college and organization. I think college athletes should get paid cause because the college makes money off of them.
A great example is when the NFL Foundation raised millions of dollars for prominent organizations like the American Cancer Society, battle against breast cancer, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Since 1973, the foundation has also donated around 250 million dollars to youth football programs. (Easterbrook 178) The largest event that produces the most money in football is the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl generates 620 million dollars, and a quarter of this revenue goes towards organizations that support disabled veterans (Murphy 9).
In fact, “Athletes were not always paid more than CEOs. In the early stages of the American Football system, most players had to have a normal day job on top of playing, because there was no money to be made in pro football.” (Two Sides To Every Coin, are Professional Athletes Paid Too Much? BleacherReport.com) Do you know those animal commercials that shows all those pets stranded, hurt, hungry, thirsty that need a home?
This causes awareness to why they’re kneeling during the national anthem. These news outlets give NFL players a voice and a way to speak their mind. When famous people are given largely viewed outlets they are able to spread awareness. Going on the NFL players aren’t only spreading awareness but they’re also doing it
