A story about a man with lots of hope who does not end how he expected. The Great Gatsby, a story, written by F.Scott Fitzgerald, of tragedy. Nick Caraway, the main character in the story, lived to a legend by the name of Gatsby. Jay Gatz, also known as Gatsby, is a very rich man with many mysteries that only Nick Caraway knows and Gatsby's family. Love is the main part of this story because of the things Gatsby and George do because of love. Love and tragedy made Gatsby and George do things they never thought they would do. Love made Gatsby spend lots of money to get Daisy to love him again. Gatsby spent a lot of money on parties and accessories. “‘The grass looks fine, if that’s what you mean.’” (Fitzgerald 84). Gatsby tried getting the love of Daisy to come back, but she had lost those feelings when she found her new lover Tom Buchanan. “‘Oh, You want too much’ she cried to Gatsby.” (Fitzgerald 132). Daisy is telling Gatsby that she did love him once but she lost love for him and Daisy had loved Tom after Gatsby left. Gatsby tried forcing love from Daisy to him, but it didn’t work. Gatsby had many tragedies in The Great Gatsby, but George Wilson also had tragedies in this story. George found out that his Wife, Myrtle Wilson, was having an affair. George saw the jewels that she had on and assumed she was having an affair. “‘I’ve got my wife locked in up there’” (Fitzgerald 136). George locked in a room for 2 days because Myrtle was having an affair against him, but this caused Myrtle to run away into the street and die. George never thought he would hit Myrtle and cause her to suicide. This tragedy made George go crazy and made him want revenge on whoever killed his
