The Great Seal is used for very important documents of the U.S. such as treaties, commissions of diplomatic personnel, and letters from the president to foreign leaders. The front of the seal is used on documents, see the seal is put on documents because its a symbol that is ours meaning its part of us kind of like a “signature” of the United States because it's to let others know its our document, so not only do the symbols of the seal tell others what the U.S. is. Many countries use seals on documents as well like a “signature” to let others know it's theirs but not many symbols have a deeper meaning than what is on the seal.
