What makes Achilles special? It is amazing that we still talk about Achilles and his death to this day and about why is heel was so special. As a very distinctive character In Greek Mythology, Achilles stands out as a very brave character who never lives up to his expectation.

With most Greek mythology, the character’s background is a something one should always consider. That being said (connect your two ideas)The parents of Achilles are Peleus, his dad, and his mother is Nereid Thetis (Greek Mythology). While he was in his childhood, he was dipped into the river STYX because his mother wanted him to be immortal. The only part of him that didn't get touched by water was his heel (Greek Mythology), which his mother was holding.
Achilles’s mother knew he would have a short but glorious life so she tried to hide him from the world by making him dress as a girl and she made him hang around the women. It seems that there are other stories about what happened to make him immortal. This causes confusion because many want to know what actually happened, not two different stories. It appears that he was mortal like his father and his mother wanted him to be immortal. The first story on how Odysseus figures out Achilles true identity is he dressed as merchant and filled two carts. One cart had jewelry and clothing. The other cart had weapons and Odysseus took the carts out in the crowd of people and all ot the women went to the jewelry and clothing and Achilles went to the weapons.
