The greeks have many fascinating creatures from may of their legends and have myths explaining earth's creation. This essay is about many different mythical beasts and creatures from greek myths and prophecies. There are many creatures in the greek religion in many different fables and epics. There are many tales of many heroes slaying or being slain by these pretend, made up creatures of Greek myths. The first creature I will talk about is the Gorgon. From greek myths the gorgons are three cursed sisters. There were 3 sister cursed into gorgons. Each of three sisters, Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa had snakes for hair.They also had the power to turn anyone who looked at them to stone. Cyclops are from many of the greek myths. The cyclops are one eyed titans. In some myths the cyclops were originally humans but they were cursed for breaking a deal. In many other variations of the story, the stories have different backgrounds. Either way The cyclops were man eating humanoid beings. The are called cyclops because in greek it literally means “one eye” or “circle eye”. The next creature is even scarier. Now I will talk about the chimera. The chimera is a beast that hunts humans. The chimera is a deadly three headed monster. It is a massive creature that towers above most others. It usually has a lion head and might have a goat, ape, tiger, or dog head. It is a fire breathing monster and it has wings too. It stalks its prey and destroys villages. The chimera also has a venomous snake as a tail. The final creature is next. The very final creature I will talk about is the minotaur. It is a deadly creature. From the greek myths It is a bull headed human hybrid. The parents of the beast were cursed and there child was a hybrid. According to myth it was trapped in a labyrinth so it can never get out until someone will enter and slay the beast.
