In the Aeneid written by Virgil the audience gets a history of the Greeks battling the Trojans. The Greeks reached their peak in the Mediterranean world in 6th-5th centuries BC. Greek religion was important to both men and women alike. The ancient Greeks were very religious people. They believed in many Gods, which is seen through the Aeneid.
Votives were gifts given by the Greeks to worship offerings to the Gods. After receiving the gifts, they were put on display in the God’s sanctuary for a limited amount of time and then were discarded. At the Penn Museum there were several portrayals of Greek sacrifices carved into stone, also there were multiple forms of writing which contained information about the Greeks religion.
