In Greek mythology, there were many fierce warriors who will have changed Greece forever and are all distinctively different. Greek war heros are most known because of the Trojan War between fighting on land and in the sea there are many stories that make each of these heros very distinct. Most heroes of Greece were mostly known as gods and people who were immortal and much more powerful than the average person which changed Greek mythology in a major way. The Greek war heroes were the most important Greek aspect because they have relations with Greek gods and goddesses, it can change who conquers who, and they illustrated the bravery of the Greek culture.

If one hero can change who wins a war just like the Greek war heroes had done, it obviously is very essential to the Greek culture and to me is the most important. “When Hector killed Patroclus, Achilles was filled with grief and rage and returned to battle, routed the Trojans, and killed Hector, viciously dragging his body back to the Greek camp and beat the Trojans.” (Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia) Achilles, just one soldier had completely changed who won the battle by his smarts of war and how good of a warrior he was. Without a Greek war hero like Achilles, the battle could have been lost and the Greek empire could have been conquered altogether. This especially works toward my thesis because losing wars can result in losing your empire and without a war hero like Achilles, that all could have been lost to the Trojans. The bravery and courage that Greek war heroes had displayed had won them many wars. “According to Homer, Achilles came to Troy leading the 50 ships of The Myrmidons. In the last year of the siege, when Agamemnon stole the captive princess Briseis from him, Achilles angrily withdrew and took his troops from the war.”(Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia) Being brave enough to lead an army into enemy territory which many people wouldn’t do led the Greek army to defeating Troy. Having bravery like Achilles did led to many victories for the Greeks. Without having the bravery these Greek heroes had, many heroic things and battles would not have been won resulting in an unacceptable and more frightful Greek culture. Without the bravery and mentality of the Greek war heroes, they would have never been able to conquer others and defend their kingdom which makes their courage very essential to the striving
