The Green Bay Packers traveled to Gillette Stadium tonight to face the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. The Patriots came into the game trying to forget about their off-season stemming from the “Deflategate” scandal. Tonight, we got to see just how the Patriots offense would look for the first four games potentially without their field general, Tom Brady. Brady is looking at a potential four-game suspension unless the court decides to reverse the league’s decision.

Both teams’ first strings played the entire first quarter, however, the Packers saw the bulk of the action. Aaron Rodgers looked crisp completing 11-of-19 passes for 117 yards. On the first possession alone, Rodgers threw the ball seven times, and four of those targets were to Davante Adams. At times he threw some nice passes, consequently, at other times he looked a bit shaky with his rhythm. Garoppolo finished the game completing 20-of-30 passes for 159 yards and an interception. Garoppolo won’t be your fantasy savior this year, but in a two-quarterback league he could be a decent plug and play through the first few weeks of the season if given playing time.

Fifth-year quarterback, Scott Tolzien, received the second string reps for the packers. Tolzien finished the game completing 10-of-16 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. Tolzien won’t see any time during the regular season unless a freak injury happens to Aaron Rodgers, however, he looked solid overall tonight.

Rookie quarterback, Brett Hundley, also saw some game time with the third-string for the Packers. Hundley came into the game during the fourth quarter and gave us glimpses of what he has to offer. Hundley finished the game completing 4-of-6 passes for 60 yards and a
