The first book I ever read was "Green Eggs and Ham". I can still imagine all of the bright colors and the different pictures. The story takes you on an adventure through the different places they were going. In the book, there is a guy named Sam and a guy without a name. Sam is trying to get the character to eat the green eggs and ham. Dr. Seuss uses imagery and allegory to describe that you should keep an open mind about new experiences and never judge a book by it's cover. Throughout the story Sam and the character have an interesting friendship.
In the story the main character compares the eggs to fear.
Throughout the book, Sam tries to see if the character will eat the eggs and ham if it was in a different setting. Sam does try everything

They were in a tree, they were with a goat, and they were in a boat. The examples connect to the topic because he is using the fear to try
to get out of eating the eggs and ham. The character is not keeping an open mind about new experiences. He judges everything that he comes across. During the whole story the main character was judging the green eggs and ham, because he thought it looked nasty. You never know if you are going to like something until you try it. When Sam was trying to get him to eat it, he always said no. The main character judged it by it's looks.
When the character first meets Sam, he said "I do not like that Sam I am."
The character was judging Sam at the first moment that he saw him. They connect to each other because the character is assuming that he is not going to like the food. How will he know if he likes it, until he tries it? Do not judge anything, because you might turn out liking it.
Sam and the main character's friendship is a bumpy road. The character does not like Sam in the beginning of the story. Sam is being really annoying trying to get him to try the food. Sam asks him if the character likes "green eggs and ham", and even when the character says no, Sam starts pestering him if he would like them in another place.

But the character still does not change his mind about Sam. For example, Sam brings him in a box, and in a car, and in a house. But nothing changes until, the character says " Sam! If you will let me be, I will try them. You will see," (pg. 45). The character ends up liking the green eggs and ham. Sam kept encouraging the main character because he felt his friend would like it. Good friends push each other through life to face their fears and experience new adventures. Even though their friendship was rough in the beginning, they got through it together.
Life can lead you on many different paths, and you want to try to live life the fullest. So go try something, because it may turn out great. And always keep an open mind because there is something your missing if you don't. Through a comparison of the eggs to fear, judgement, and friendship, the author pulled these themes together during the adventure the characters experienced. When the character first saw the eggs and ham he felt they would taste disgusting. And he was scared to try it. But the friendship was the whole story, because over time the encouragement
