In the novel The Great Gatsby, we see a lot of different perspectives and different side of views. It also make it relatable due to our modernized society, where most people are driven to money and power. Materialism was a key component in the time period of the book and is still an apparent characteristic of modern societies today. Character in the book were extremely attracted to a higher class of living and everybody wants to be rich, which still a goal that everyone want to achieve in our modern society. The green was situated at the end of Daisy’s East Egg duck and barely visible from from Gatsby’s West Egg lawn which repressed his hopes and dreams for the future. Gatsby‘s quest for Daisy is broadly associated with the American dream the greenlight also symbolizes that more generalized ideal. Gatsby living a high life forever but losing his love of his life Daisy. The eyes of doctor is an old advertising billboard over the valley of ashes. . The American dream can best be described as a set of goals which many people have in hopes of achieving a higher social status through hard work. Being prosperous and successful to live a life fulfilled with satisfaction and aspiration of the American dream. They have constructed an ideal lifestyle that you should want for yourself, The American dream shows people that they can have everything the wanted can be accomplished by gaining money and power. In the book Gatsby is very well known in East and West Egg, which indicates how materialism plays a big role in the characters life being famous, well known and showing off in all his parties and what he has. Gatsby was well known for his wealth and his high lifestyle that he was living but in reality he was born poor
