First, From the epic poem, the value of Anglo-Saxon is display fame. Beowulf has biggest influence in the Great Britain. One hand, when Beowulf beat the Grendel, and many people believe he has super ability. However, Grendel’ mother also was a big trouble in this society. Then Beowulf fighting with Grendel’s mother and won. The people all think Beowulf is a celebrity and should praise him. For example, “ So fame/ comes to the men who mean to win it/ And care about nothing else!” ( The Language of Literature 48, lines 490-492) . Even though , he died, people still maintain respect for him and worship his feelings. “ Rode their horses around the tower, telling their sorrow, telling stories of their dead king greatness, his glory, praising him
