Diego Saavedra Mrs.Metzker English 3 01/19/2017 Symbol of Love Cheating is a choice, not a mistake. In the story “Ethan Frome” by Edith Wharton. Ethan is committed himself already to one woman named Zeena, however, Ethan does start to fall in love with another lady named Mattie, who also happens to be the cousin of Zeena. In the story, there is a scene where Mattie and Ethan were cooking and about to have dinner, when the cat knocks over Zeena 's pickle dish, all these events are very key in the symbol of the story.
In the article “8 Lies That Destroy Marriage,” Bill Elliff describes some of the common lies that destroy marriage and how they can lead to divorce. Throughout the article Elliff insists about the facts that lie beyond the marriage in life, and he presents the idea of how the couples believe the only solution to their troubled marriage life is to divorce. Elliff argues that (If I don’t love my spouse any longer, I should get a divorce.) Elliff point is, marriage is not a joke and he believes it is a commitment to accept good and bad. Elliff also identifies how couples could lose their love because of unable to carry the drama, but he suggests us to remember the bible verse (love is patient and kind it never fails.)
Paper Assignment Sociology 100 Del Blake Dr. Whitaker 1. The film that I chose to analyze was Shawshank Redemption. The movie Shawshank Redemption was released September 23, 1994 and told the story of Andy Dufresene. A hot shot banker who finds himself convicted of a crime he said he didn’t commit, the murder of his wife and her lover. In 1947 he was sent to Shawshank Prison where the story revolved around Andy’s transformation to prison life and his journey as an inmate in the prison.
What the characters begin to realize as the story progresses is that sometimes the more immoral acts you commit to get where you want to be, the more acts you are willing to commit to stay there. Morality is like a pit of snakes, you can either fall in and become poisoned, or you can be the one standing on the edge looking down. There are examples of immoral partying throughout the story. Every single one has alcohol, sex, and even scandals.

In The Scarlet Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, that is exactly the situation at hand. Hester Prynne had an affair with local minister Rev. Arthur Dimmesdale, and because of this affair Hester becomes pregnant with Dimmesdale’s child. Scandals are not only in works of fiction, there are many scandals in the world that are quite similar to Hester’s. One of these scandals being actress Ingrid Bergman’s affair with director Roberto Rossellini in 1950.

Adultery Nobody wants to start a marriage with the thought of cheating, instead with vows and promises of love. However, males have a 60% chance and females a 50% chance of having another affair during their marriage(Shugerman). The chances of adultery in a marriage is very high, so there has to be a reason right? According to a research study the top five reasons people commit adultery are loneliness, communication barriers, lack of love and affection, a poor sexual relationship, and a lack of intimacy(Young, Doug and Chris Young).
Tubbs pointed out that the face-to-face communication mainly relies on three sensory organs, which are hearing, sight and touch (Tubbs, 2014, 13). I need to convey both passionate words and nonverbal behaviors to my group. It would require me to utilize some postures, touches, variable voice tone, even controlling my pitch to meet the part of emotion. Today in the 21st century there are many guys who cheat on their wife and some who have an affair. Some men later on regret it and others don’t. When communicating with others, it is very important to show a positive impression using non-verbal, this can determine how your verbal communication is received by others. Non-verbal communications are things like eye contact, your posture, body movements and expressions you use when talking to others. All the actions that a customer would notice, it gives a general impression on how interested you are and if others around you are able to judge if you are interested or listening to them. Lack of non-verbal communication can give the customer a bad impression of you.
It is also known as nonverbal communication. This type of communication includes no words but gesture, body language, eye contact, posture or facial expressions. When we interact with others, we continuously exchange wordless signals. A considerable part of nonverbal communication is facial expressions as these indicate others about our feeling, attitudes, states of mind and relationships. Facial expression also plays a major role in communication since the expression on our face say a lot about our mood.
