Guided Principles Associated With Time Series Design

547 Words3 Pages

Quantitative research approaches are intended to describe current conditions, investigate relations, and study cause/effect phenomena. This research usually completed in relatively short time; data collected and analyzed relatively quickly; planning of time schedule very useful. Data consist of notes from observations, interviews, examination of artifacts; collection requires substantial interaction between researcher and participants.
One quantitative research design is a time series design. Times series design is a sequence of designs and measurements using several participants and interventions. This single subject design is known to be called different things and is carried out over time. Time series design is essential for studying the process of change. The three guided principles associated with time series are prediction, …show more content…

ABA design is defined as a model involving the removal of interventions, this is also known as the follow-up phase. It consist of a total of three phases, (A) representing no intervention and is considered the baseline. (B) involves the intervention and treatment phase and (A) is the withdrawal intervention phase. This model helps counselors determine if the removal of intervention changes ones behavior, while obtaining repeated measurements.
Multiple Baseline design is AB designs that measures data from the same person across different settings and behaviors. This particular design is known to be the most common design in used. One of its greatest advantage is that it is easy to understand. Unlike ABA designs, behavior changes is monitored throughout the entire design. However this could cause a disadvantage due to the implementation process being timely and requiring various resources. Another disadvantage to consider when using this design is that the Verification process depends the variable levels not
