That quote was what gave Yanek Gruener the drive to survive through years of concentration camps. Yanek was a Polish Jew, he was moved from his home into the Krakow ghetto where he lived in a pigeon coop. Several months after moving to the ghetto, Yanek had everything taken from at the age of ten, including his family.
A hero is a courageous individual who likes to help people and gets satisfaction from doing so. Dave Eggers’ book Zeitoun is about a man named Zeitoun who decides to stay behind in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina,He makes the sacrifice to let his family leave without him which he later on regrets. After much consideration,it is obvious that Zeitoun is a hero. Zeitoun is a hero because he puts his own life before others.

But, as Vargas started his path to a high profile career in journalism, his illegal status began to follow him and therefore Vargas’ situation was getting complicated. Eventually, Vargas in an emotional piece declared his illegal immigrant status and naturally, people chose to either defend Vargas or censure Vargas. Rory O’Connor is an example of someone who chose to defend Vargas after the declaration.

Adolf Hitler then went on to plan and lead one of the biggest and most widespread human massacres of all time, The Holocaust. “One brave deed makes no hero” (John Greenleaf Whittier). A hero is a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. In the chapter titled "Travels", The RZA writes about how being around wise people helps one learn and gain knowledge from each other. He personally is open to learning new things from the people he meets and because of that the RZA in the Wu-Tang clan is known as a teacher. The RZA believes that no one stops learning in life even if their teachers. This is made clear when the RZA states, "But a real teacher is also a student, someone who never stops learning"(7). This quote shows that the RZA believes that a real teacher is not just a teacher they are also students because they never stop learning new information or life lessons gained through experiences in life.
