Gun control is a term referring to the various laws and policies that regulate everything related to the use of firearms by civilians. The topic is relevant to our society, country, state, and city because of how many mass murders have happened. It is reported that “Gun violence in the United States results in tens of thousands of deaths and injuries annually. In the constitution, the second Amendment states that people have “the right to bear arms.” This Amendment has saved many lives. However, this has taken many lives away as well. With that being said, there needs to be more restrictions on gun laws. Only certain individuals with the right credentials, should be allowed to purchase automatic guns. Most crimes and gang wars appear in low income neighborhoods, which has rate of gun violence. Rural residents are more likely to own firearms than people living in cities, and have more opportunities to use them for lawful activities like hunting and recreational shooting. Rural residents experience the most gun crime rates due to living in poverty. The high rate on crime, gang wars, selling drug, and living in a low income neighborhood drives individuals to buy more guns due to the conditions they live in.
