Ladies and gentlemen, I have come here to discuss a problem rooted in this nation; An emergency of safety in this great nation; A crisis of great severity, and a problem we must fix as soon as possible before it is too late; To begin, I would like to call attention to that the safety of this nation's children should be the top priority; It is our responsibility to ensure that our young ones grow up in a world that is free from gun violence; Sadly, the reality is that gun violence continues to plague our society and causes the youth to live in fear if they live long enough to leave school; We cannot afford to turn a blind eye to this problem any longer; We need to take action, and we need to take it sooner rather than later. Yes, some may claim that further restrictions will infringe on the right to gun ownership; however, I would contest that this is a small price to pay to ensure the safety of this country's children and the generations to come; The idea of there being freedom in the U.S. while children are not free from the fear of gun violence is simply fraught with idiocy; One-sided protection in unjust and should be voiced more to reinforce the idea that we must bring about this change; This change ensures the safety of the young generation of the U.S.To achieve this goal, we need to enact background checks and safe storage laws, and we need to do it now; We cannot afford to wait any longer; We cannot afford to sit back and watch as our children become the next victims of gun violence; And this gun violence does not just mean school shootings, but gun violence means all violence with firearms like the millions of suicide attempts and people who have committed suicides; We must act now before it is too late and the terror of gun violence
