In a nation of pioneers and settlers, where we capitalize upon a bear wielding a firearm to represent “our right to bear arms” there has come to be quite a bit of bloodshed because of that right. Fear has been interwoven into the school system, a kind of fear that even the greatest school safety measures cannot prevent. Such instances being the Columbine, Newtown, and the more recent Parkland school shooting. It cannot be controlled who does the killing, but what can be isolated is the weapon those chose as their aid in the slaughtering. So many lives are lost in these devastations a step towards preventing more from being lost is increasing gun control.

We the people should stand up against gun violence. Life is a natural right. Killing is against the law, so why is it we give the "proper authorities" the right to kill those they feel threatened by? Why is it that it 's ok to kill someone if they did something against the rules? Killing them won 't change anything!
Thesis 1: Charlton Heston is directly responsible for the large amount of gun ownership in America and is thus responsible for the large amount of gun related violence in America. If he stopped his rallying then gun violence would drop. Response: I disagree with this statement because Charlton Heston only promotes legal ownership of guns, and he does not support any form of violence and only encourages guns be used for self defence.
As the amount of school shootings increase rapidly, the entire country is divided on the stance of the gun issue outbreak. While the number of mass shootings is still increasing throughout the country, the total number of shootings have raised to 18 in the first 45 days this year. When he asked to play with Makayla's puppies and she replied no, the boy then went inside his house and pointed his dad's 12-gauge shot gun outside of the window. Makayla turned around and continued to play with her friends, not believing the threat of the little boy. That is when the boy pulled the trigger.
“Citizenship means standing up for the lives that gun violence steals from us each day.” This essay, inspired by the above words spoken by President Barack Obama during his State of the Union Address on January 28, 2014, will serve as a wakeup call to the American people, in the hope that they will come to their senses and drastically change their countries’ gun laws. Why is it that America is the world leader in gun violence? Many people will answer this question by saying “it’s always been this way, so there’s nothing we can do”, but they couldn’t be farther from the truth. The fact of the matter is that “since 2011, the frequency of mass attacks has tripled”, yet nothing is being done (TheWeek.com). Unless something can be done to prevent all of these mass killings, it is only going to get worse. With many States having lax gun laws and the “estimated 310 million guns in circulation”, no wonder it’s
