Gurov

Through out this story Dimitrin Dmitrich Gurov is a doctor and under forty he travels a lot. He married young he had a daughter that was twelve and two sons and his wife seemed half as old as he was. He was at Yalta which he travels there often when he notices a young lady walking with a dog. However, during this time, it was not appropriated for men to talk to women when they were by themselves they had to be introduce by at third party. In this case the dog played the third party. He asked if he could he the dog a bone. Dmitri consider his wife unintelligent, narrow, inelegant he was afraid of her and didn’t like to be at home. He was always speaking ill of women when he talked about the he called them “the lower race”. He had been schooled

(like they are reptiles after his done with them). (we can assume that they did something sextually after this becasuse she says: “it’s wrong”. And she mentions that he would be the 1st to despite her yet Grurov only eats water melon (this shows us that she feels ashamed by what she did but he doesn’t care about her because he stays quiet for half an hour). However, Gurov felt bored listening to her and was irritated (even though he says that he doenst care he finds himself caring after a few minutes). After a while he talked to her softly and comforted her (this was a sigh that she means a lot to him because he beings to actually care in a new type of way). They left the apartment and Gurov notices the nature more and describes a new feeling that he feels and sees. At this point we learn that he is crazy for her since he would tell her that she was beautiful and wouldn’t leave her side this still didn’t give her confidence that he loved her she still thought that he thinks nothing of
