Information Conditions. Being a developed country Greece is able to push information to the masses using televised media, cell phones, and other means. Because of this, the RS has used the media as a method of televising their propaganda. A common TTP used by the RS is to contact the media, police, or both before an attack occurs. Doing this gives the RS the recognition they seek. This increases the confidence level of the RS, especially when police are unable to stop an attack. With the confidence level of the RS boosted, this can set the stage for them to make a fatal mistake. Since Greece has modern equipment via telecommunication, RS members are able to communicate through many means such as emails, texts, phone calls etc. Effects and Response. Since the RS is able to switch their methods of communication, it will be hard for HUMINT Collectors to assess for trends. A response would be to coordinate with other intelligence assets. Greece is located in southern Europe in the Mediterranean region. Greece is mainly mountainous, with a large number of islands of various sizes. As a result, the country varies in climate. Overall, Greece has hot, dry summers, and rainy winters. Since the RS only operates in Athens, considerations to HUMINT Collectors can be limited to the physical environment of the city, weather patterns, and terrain features. Effects and Response. Taking into consideration that HUMINT Collectors will mainly operate in a permissive environment, the physical environment is of lessor concern. When conducting training HUMINT Collectors should focus on training for counter surveillance techniques, vehicle role over drills, and urban operations. By conducting this training, HUMINT Collectors will ready for the challenges they may face. HUMINT Collectors require the use of Non-Tactical Vehicles (NTVs).
