The book I am currently reading is called “The House of Hades” by Rick Riordan. It is the fourth book of The Heroes of Olympus series. This book is part of my reading goal. It helps my reading goal because it is one of Rick Riordan books. After this book, there is only one more left until I finish The Heroes of Olympus series.
A sinner condemned in Tartarus to an eternity of rolling a boulder uphill then watching it roll back down again, Sisyphus was founder and king of Corinth, or Ephyra as it was called in those days. He was notorious as the most cunning knave on earth. His greatest triumph came at the end of his life, when the god Hades came to claim him personally for the kingdom of the dead. Hades had brought along a pair of handcuffs, a comparative novelty, and Sisyphus expressed such an interest that Hades was persuaded to demonstrate their use - on himself.
The Greeks had twelve gods each god did something for their society. The Greeks believed each god had a throne on top of mount olympus most of them did hades did not. However, Hades does not favor such people entering and leaving his kingdom as they please or favor them stealing from him. Heroes managed to be shown mercy due to the persuasion of Persephone. However, thieves were a different story. Pirithous was force to sit in the chair of forgetfulness for attempting to take Hades wife, Persephone. Hades is both an aggressive and passive god in Greek mythology.
The only thing standing in his way was Hercules, so he sought to kill him. In the original version of the story, Hades was not Evil, and was only known as the Guardian of the underworld, and was not a main

The constellation that I chose was Hercules because not only was Hercules my favourite movie as a child, but it was one of the most interesting things that I learned about in muggle schooling. This constellation was first discovered in 1714 by an English astronomer, Edmond Halley, which was also included in Messier's catalog as Messier 13 on June 1, 1764. Hercules is the 5th biggest constellation in the sky, although the constellation has no first or second magnitude stars. The brightest star within this constellation is Beta Herculius (also known as Kornephoros), it is a yellow giant of magnitude 2.8 and is about 148 light years away from Earth. The creation myth behind this constellation started with the birth of Hercules, the son of Zeus
Determination is meant to show how much a person wants to achieve something. It shows what people are willing to endure in order to achieve what they desperately need to fulfill. The difference between Sam, Arwen, and Boromir's determination is how significant the situation is to each individual. In the movie, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring directed by Peter Jackson in the year 2001, Sam nearly drowning in order to keep one of his most important promises, Arwen doing everything in her willpower to keep Frodo alive and Boromir having his life taken just to keep Frodo alive are all examples of determination within the characters and their roles.
Whether it be Hel’s and Hades’ similar terrible upcoming, strange pattern of abducting, or their usage of servants and fellow canines, it is clear that these cultures and gods, although far apart, weren’t all that different. Their difference in dealing with the dead and variability with the features of their homeland also solidifies that these societies and gods were in their ways, unique to each other. By using these detailed comparisons you have opened up the door into a whole new world of
On a reading of the Homeric Hymn to Demeter which regards Persephone, Demeter's daughter, as being representative of spring, the myth of Persephone's kidnapping by Hades can be interpreted as allegorical of the changing of the seasons. In particular, Persephone can be considered as a metaphor for the planting of seeds. While she is kept underground in the realm of Hades during the winter, no crops are grown and the land is barren. However, as the winter transitions into the spring Persephone emerges from the underworld, much like a budding plant, and reunites with her mother and the other Olympian gods and goddesses above ground. When Persephone is relegated to live with Hades she falls into a depression and becomes, figuratively speaking,
The poem, “Hades to Persephone”, describes how Hades pleads to Persephone for her to “Convince [him] that [she] want to be here; / It’s not [his] trick that keeps [her] so near. / [She] chose [him]. [She]
