Kamran Smith In the fantastic book, Code of Honor by Alan Gratz, Kamran Smith is the star running-back on his high school football team. Kamran was going to go to West Point for college, just like his brother Darius. But Darius has different ideas. On the news, the Army Ranger, Darius Smith, is seen attacking a U.S. embassy.
“More weight,” stated by Giles Corey from, “The Crucible,” before he was pressed to death for witchcraft. Giles Corey was one of the oldest people to be killed during the Salem Witch Trials. The Salem Witch Trials was a series of events that took place in 1692, where innocent people were hung for apparently being witches. The people in the trials were tried in court and the girls who accused them would act like the person or people were sending spirits towards them to make the judges believe them. Giles Corey reminds me of myself by his sarcasm during conversations, always acting ornery, and the comical remarks he makes.

Jeremy Fink has a big fear of change. This shows that he doesn’t really like to try new things and he is not really a risk taker. Jeremy, a 12 year old, has been living without his father for five years now and that has been tough on him. That is one of the reasons he doesn’t like change, because the biggest change he can remember is living without his father. Another example is Jeremy’s food choice.
Elizabeth Yates wrote the book Amos Fortune: Free Man, a story about a young boy who was took by slave traders to end up with a better life in America. Amos Fortune, the main character in Amos Fortune: Free Man. At-mun is a good little boy in Africa, until something tragic was going to happen that would change his life forever. At-mun and his tribe were having a feast, so they left all of their weapons outside of their ground to celebrate, little did they know that someone was watching them. Slave traders were watching them because soon they were going to kill the chief and take all of the people they could, that didn’t have any diseases or problems.
Lockie Leonard: Human Torpedo Even though Lockie is sometimes grumpy and is involved in conflicts with his fellow students and teachers, he often surprises others with his acts of kindness and consideration. The protagonist of the novel, Lockie Leonard is a compIcated mix of both negative and positive characteristics. This is seen through his attitude and behaviour throughout the novel. Attitudes influence our choices, which directly affect our responses.

I welcome you to the 24th annual Queensland Literary Symposium I’d like to highlight another prominent book that has captured readers with its engaging and thrilling storyline alone with significant aspects of human society and culture The story I specifically refer to is none other but the novel Jasper Jones Written by the Australian author Craig Silvery, Jasper Jones was set in the scorching summer of Western Australia in 1965.

A Character profile of Honey West in "Honey West: This Girl For Hire" by G.G. Fickling Personality: Honey West’s personality is a highly socially interactive woman that has exploits her sexual prowess as a means of gathering information from her clients and potential suspects. More so, West is an intelligent woman that is capable of solving problems with logic and reasoning. These personality factors define the sexual active and highly motivated social acumen that West utilizes as a private investigator working out of Hollywood. Honey West has many of the traits of a “protector”, since she becomes a private investigator to seek revenge for the death of her father. West as a strong intuition about people, which allows her to manipulate them through sexuality, charisma, and guile when investigating cases for her clients.
Trauma has an effect on all heroes. How they overcome the awful event is what builds them to become a hero. The dramatic event for some heroes will sometimes occur during the event that makes them a hero. These events will either result in someone close to them dyeing, or the hero himself will die. By comparing the modern hero to Beowulf, a person realizes that modern Americans value mental strength over physical strength.
"Any glimpse into the life of an animal quickens our own and makes it so much the larger and better in every way”-John Muir. Evidence from Hoot, Temple, and research shows that people can improve their lives through interacting and observing animals, because animals comfort autistic children, help you make new friends, and help you go out of your comfort zone. In the novel Hoot Roy's life improves because of the owls. Temple Grandin has an amazing story, if it weren't for animals she wouldn't be able to do what she can today. Dogs help autistic children feel safe.
Portfolio Reflections Item 3: Character Map The character I thought had a lot of significance in the novel, but was not a main character was Jordan Baker. Jordan Baker was Daisy’s friend who grew up with her. She is famous for golf and that is how the narrator, Nick, recognizes her.
Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak is an interesting children’s picture book. The main character is a little boy named Max, who has a wild imagination. He uses all five senses as well as thought and his actions to express his personality as well as how he reacts and interacts with his surroundings. Max’s id, ego and super-ego are greatly shown in this book through the way that the author has portrayed him. Not only is this book a children’s story, but it can also be perceived as a life lesson.
Dimmesdale is not the only character whose health suffers from keeping a secret, This also happens to Roger Chillingworth. When Chillingworth learns of the happenings of his former wife Hester, he decides to dedicate his time to find the man that ruined his marriage. What is most gripping is while Hester and Chillingworth have a conversation about the future of their marriage, Chillingworth states: “But, as for me, I come to the inquest with other senses than they possess. I shall seek this man, I have sought truth in books; as I have sought gold in alchemy. There is a sympathy that will make me conscious of him.
The play, Antigone written by Sophocles, presents a tragedy that fits the classical definition, but it is the story of Creon, the king of the main character. Creon starts out as the king of Thebes , Creon’s tragic flaw is his pride and his arrogance which caused him reflecting upon his mistakes making him a broken man, recognizing what he did to his niece, he is a character within Antigone, even though he was portrayed as an antagonist he was the main character since he was. Creon’s tragic flaw, hubris, causes his downfall. Creon will not listen to anyone.
