Throughout much of the first act, Hamilton is putting his life together. Hamilton meets a group of sisters called The Schuyler Sisters and fell in love with Eliza. Hamilton was willing to fight of love. Then Hamilton joins the Continental Army during the revolution, and has a goal to command the military. After the war, Hamilton and Eliza have a son, Philip.
In Antonio Mendez and Matt Baglio's book, Argo, Mendez narrated the story of how he along with the help of others pulled off the most "audacious rescue in history" (book cover). During this time period, Antonio J. Mendez was the chief of authentication for the CIA. This title would help him tremendously throughout the story as he used his special skills to help save peoples' lives. As he tells his story he goes into great detail about how it all went down. Throughout the entirety of Argo, Antonio Mendez and Matt Baglio did a great way of explaining the purpose, occasion, and tone of the story.

On July 5, 2016, Alton Sterling was fatally shot by Blane Salamoni, a Baton Rouge police officer, in a convenience store parking lot. Salamoni was responding to a call about a man brandishing a gun and thought that Sterling fit the description of the suspect. However, when Salamoni arrived at the scene, he immediately became violent in his use of force on Sterling. Body camera footage shows Salamoni “slamming him into a car; twice ordering the second officer, Howie Lake II, to use his Taser; and threatening to shoot Mr. Sterling with a gun pointed at his head” (Fausset, 2018). Also shown in the video is Sterling doing his best to follow Salamoni’s orders although he was being pushed around by officers for the duration of the encounter.

Elijah Anderson, a Yale professor, developed the concept or theory entitled the “code of the street” which explains the reasoning for high rates of street violence among African-American juveniles in a Philadelphia community. The “code of the street” is the way of life for many living in poverty-stricken communities which attempt to regulate behaviors. Anderson observed that juveniles in inner-city neighborhoods who are exposed to racial discrimination, economic disadvantages and alienation from mainstream society may lead violent behavior. The strain, social learning, and labeling theories are all directly related to Anderson’s work.

He was then greeted by a woman named Maira Reynolds. She came to his home and he gave her some money and took her home because he felt bad because she told him that her husband was beating her.

Ryan at the beginning of the story was just a normal teenager, but at the end of the book he turned into a murderer.
Extended out to most children is the hand of a parent offering a warm hug along with warnings of danger to their children. This is what any fit parent would do. However this is not always the case with all parents. For example in the memoir The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, Rose Mary and Rex Walls are not fit to be parents because they don’t give their children what they need and have an unstable relationship. Jeannette and her siblings live off of what their parents can afford when they have sufficient money but they don’t use it to give them what they need.

A relationship between a father and a son is a sacred bond, one created at birth and strengthened over time. This paternal relationship is core to the value of family, a likewise bond of faith and trust. Such bonds are tested during times of hardship and pain, seen most clearly during times of war. During the events of World War II, and the gruesome events of the Holocaust, this truth was never more true. Through works such as the memoir Night, by survivor Elie Wiesel, and the artistry of the 1997 film Life is Beautiful, directed by Roberto Benigni, these times of hardships are kept alive in common memory.
The novel Cane (1923) by Jean Toomer consists of many short stories about the experiences of African Americans in the 1920s. The short story “Carma,” highlights the life of a woman who is unhappy with her marriage and is seeking freedom. In the story, the narrator suggests that females may use adultery and gossip as a path to independence.
