Hamlet is a story about deaths, affairs, revenge, and fake love. Throughout the story, characters are introduced that either help Hamlet or make things worse for him. This story develops overtime and you understand the character's individual goals as the story goes on. People change in this story and others stay loyal to one another. For example, someone like Horatio stayed loyal to Hamlet through the whole story while Rosencrantz and Guildenstern tried to kill Hamlet even though they were his childhood friends. This story is a story you need to pay close attention to because of the drastic twists and turns it takes. Hamlet goes through a lot in this story, not only does his father die, but his uncle was the one who killed him. Right after the killing of his father, his uncle would marry Hamlet’s mother. Hamlet is not only confused in this story, but angry. What Hamlet wants is revenge. He wants to kill his uncle after finding out about his father’s death. He wants his father to be honored, to be remembered, to be respected so Hamlet goes out and tries to do it for him. Who gets in the way of Hamlet’s goal? As committed as he was to even pull off a whole play on the death of his passed away father, Hamlet still gets held back. The new king Claudius can be one person that can be looked as holding him back because at a point in the story, he knew Hamlet wanted to kill him. Because he knew that Hamlet wanted to kill him, he sends Hamlet to England so he could be killed there. Hamlet eventually finds out about this when seeing a letter that says he is going to be killed. Hamlet re-writes the letter and says Rosencrantz and Guildenstern need to be killed instead. He then leaves England and continues his mission of revenge on his uncle
