Hamlet, a tragic story of betrayal and love. Written by William Shakespeare, set in Denmark a young prince is called to seek revenge for his father who was killed by his brother Claudius. Hamlet is not like other Shakespeare plays. Claudius had killed his own brother, took over his throne, and even married his deceased bother’s widow, Gertrude. Hamlet thinks that the marriage is "foul incest." Hamlet, is visited by the ghost of his father, who tells him Hamlet's uncle murdered his father and married his mother to become the current king. Are preparing for Laertes trip to France but before he goes he makes sure to tell his sister not to fall in love with who is too much older than to be able to love her honorably. Later that night Hamlet is keeping watch outside the castle with Horatio and Marcellus, waiting in the cold for the ghost to appear again. While they are waiting they start to hear trumpets and gunfire coming from the castle, and Hamlet is Disgusted, and he thinks that this sort of custom is better broken than kept, saying that the king’s revelry makes Denmark a laughingstock among other nations and lessens the Danes ‘achievements. Hamlets theory was proven Claudius' reaction to the staged murder revealed the King to be guilty Claudius leaves the room because he cannot breathe, and his vision is blurry.
