It is a elaborate and full story with sympathetic and abhorrent characters the audience can understand all too well. It entails elements of betrayal, loyalty and inaction. The Lion King is a Disney movie with general plot of Hamlet where, a king is murdered for his throne. While the Lion King has some character and plot resemblances, its differences is what marks the gap between a children's movie to a richly told story.

Again, his mothers marriage with his uncle came to him bolt from the blue. It was unbearable for him to accept that his parents’ conjugal bed is being shared. Hamlet is a powerful story of love, life, revenge, and death. The themes within the play are written to live on for eternity. It is difficult to fully and accurately represent a play as great as this one. The movie that we watched in class did not wholly represent the wonders and the magnitude of the themes within Shakespeare’s work.
The character of Hamlet is expressed as a protagonist. His irritated attitude towards Claudius in scene 2 of act 1 leaves the audience with a clear first impression of his nature. He is deceitful of the king, his uncle Claudius who is now the ruler of Denmark after his brothers “death”, and disgusted of his mother marrying his uncle. Hamlet is an example of someone who has compromised his happiness, in order to avenge his father’s murder.

Hamlet, a greek tragedy written by William Shakespeare, is a book commonly read throughout multiple high schools in which teaches students about selfishness and some unappealing aspects that can be found within their peers in their everyday lives. As a seventeen year old highschool student that was forced to read Hamlet, I can say that I was not very motivated to do so. For me personally, it was a very difficult read; and I believe that there are multiple reasons behind its difficulty. The language itself is a very difficult barrier to cross; the culture, and the english was very different back then so of course it is going to be difficult for the people of our day and age to understand.
