The soliloquy in Act 4 Scene 4 of Hamlet by Shakespeare is a crucial part of the play, as Hamlet decides to seek revenge for his father’s death. In this scene, the central theme of revenge is accompanied by themes of religion, decay, and corruption. Hamlet sees Fortinbras’ army and realizes how many men bravely faced death to defend their honor; this enables him to connect to his father’s murder and how he should seek vengeance. In the work of one of the best at writing emotion in language, William Shakespeare holds many emotions within his writing at all times. A well rounded and sufficient example of this is his beautifully crafted play, Hamlet. In the play, Shakespeare utilizes the uses of metaphors, tone, and parallel structure to further Hamlet’s emotions of love, anger, and despair throughout the play.
In the play, Hamlet experiences a time of turbulence and madness in which he comes to know of his family’s immoral actions. After witnessing his family fall apart in a matter of months, Hamlet becomes increasingly impulsive and dispassionate. Because of Hamlet’s relations with his family and peers, he in turn becomes disillusioned with the idea of love and evolves into a character of despondency and little morality. While in the beginning Hamlet madness starts out as an act, his thinking becomes derailed over time until he becomes intentionally suicidal. When Hamlet had originally discovered his uncle’s true motives and his mother’s lack a sympathy for her husband’s death, Hamlet mourns the loss of trust in his family.
One of his tragic flaw is, he is an immense procrastinator. Hamlet also wants to be king more than anything ever and would do anything in his power to become king. He is absolutely miserable because his father died and his mother rushes off and married his uncle, Claudius and he takes the throne. You see Hamlet’s tragic flaws, procrastination and indecisive, quite a bit throughout the play.

In William Shakespeare’s tragic play Hamlet, we see a deadly chain of events pass on from one character to another. As children, most people are taught to forgive and forget mistakes. We must not let pettiness overbear rational thoughts and to not hold grudges against one another. The necessity for revenge was the main cause of most of the fatalities among the characters in the play. Shakespeare uses the theme of revenge to showcase the inability to grant forgiveness and move on.
Throughout literature, authors use various methods to intensify the tension in their writings. One method authors employ is the use themes to introduce the main point or concept of the story. In The Tragedy of Hamlet, Shakespeare uses the concept of revenge to resemblance and reflect the moral, social, spiritual, political, and personal dilemmas of the characters. The reoccurring theme of revenge, cause the characters in Hamlet to act aimlessly through emotion and anger, rather than through reason or a purpose.
He has anger built up towards his uncle because of the murder that he committed as well as the robbery of the thrown. Hamlet battles the king as well as his emotions in the play. Towards the beginning of the play Hamlet gets confronted by the ghost of his father. His father describes to Hamlet that the person that dethroned him of his position is the one that is his murderer.
