The Three Branches An active person is one who is constantly seeking knowledge, doing, and not waiting. Whereas, a passive person would be the one that waits for the knowledge to imprint into the brain. The Shakespearean play Hamlet demonstrates both the active and passive personal mindset. There are characters that do, perform, and act through the way of their voice and doings. As the play goes on the character's actions perceive what will happen next to them, and those around them. An action can affect more than one person and harm multiple. Nonetheless, the simplicity of an active or passive action comes with the same consequence. When one pretends they purposefully go out of their way to make sure people are thinking a different thing than the truth. As this play is called Hamlet it is prevalent that he is the main character. However, it is not prevalent that he is the biggest liar one would meet. One day, Hamlet reads a letter from Claudius stating his own death. He switches the names to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, ordering them to death instead of himself. He tries and succeeds at deceiving people and creating a greater life for himself. On the topic of Claudious’ wrongdoings, he too is a man of pretending. Killing his own brother then marrying his wife, making himself the wrongful king, and presenting lies to everyone. He puts thoughts into people's heads like Laertes. When he noticed Laerte's distress about his father and sister Claudius instigated him to get back at Hamlet through a fencing match that is set up. As it is set up to kill Hamlet the plan goes through, but also sideways killing everyone else. The worse part is that he has to act throughout the entire thing so nobody knows it is all his idea. Performing is a lie that is okay for someone else to hear and know. Performers put on an act. They always know what they are doing, and they know others to do that
