Once he Old King begins approaches Hamlet from beyond the grave to tell him the details of his death. Hamlet exclaims upon seeing him, “Angels and ministers of grace, defend us!” Hamlet (I, iv, 43). Hamlet is not sure whether or not this ghost is actually his Father and cries out for someone to protect him, especially god or a supernatural being. The ghost is a supernatural occurrence and most people would say that it was their grieving mind making things up.
