When I saw the young lad roaming around with Miss Estella’s permission I decided to fight him. Yet I had to give him a reason to fight me so with my head I butted him in his stomach. He then hit me and was going to hit me again had I not yelled out. I showed him ‘Law of the Game’ where I skipped from my left leg to my right and ‘Regular Rules’ where I skipped from right leg to my left leg. How after he escaped, he went to Australia, worked as a sheep farmer with others and made a huge fortune. He was touched by when Handel gave him the wittles and a fille on the marshes when he was a young boy. With the huge fortune he made, he decided to use all his wealth to make Handel a gentleman. After Handel told me this, I was quite astonished. He was Handel’s mysterious benefactor! After so many years Handel and I thought it was Miss Havisham! How happy I am now that Handel knows who his benefactor is. After a few minutes of taking all this information in, Handel then took the convict home around midnight. Once he came back, we talked about what we were going to do with the convict. We came to a conclusion that Handle was not going to take money from him anymore because he was in terrible condition. And that we had to get the convict out of England because the police would be looking for him. Handel and I decided to tell him our plans the next morning after breakfast. After Provis finished his breakfast, Handel told him our plans. He agreed with our plans and told us some of his childhood. He told us that as a young man, he met a criminal named Compeyson and fell under his influence. Once they got caught, Compeyson turned on him, and Provis wanted revenge.
