It’s Whaley Happening: An analysis of the Requirements of Becoming a Preschool Teacher As high school comes to an end, it’s time to start thinking about a career to pursue. The career I plan to pursue is becoming a preschool teacher. I would love to be a preschool teacher. I’ve always had a love for children, which inspired me to look into becoming a preschool teacher. The children are still young, they’re going to make mistakes and not get things the first time, preschool teachers need to be able to stay calm and keep trying with the child. It’s also important that preschool teachers have good organizational skills, staying organized shows the children it’s best to stay organize and teaches them to stay organized. It’s also good to be organized because they need to keep track of progress of the children to be able to show the parents. Preschool teachers need to have good communication skills, not only do they interact with children, but they also interact with the children’s parents and their other co-workers. Preschool teachers also need to have good physical stamina (occupational outlook handbook). Having good physical stamina is important because the children are young, they’re full of energy and love to run around and play outside. When becoming a preschool teacher, it’s best to have a minimum of a high school diploma, although most places require at least an associate’s degree, some may even require a bachelors. Individuals drawn to this occupation need to be responsible, nurturing, responsible, patient, observant, playful, and caring (Flynn). Also when becoming a preschool teacher, all requirements that are necessary to get the job are required. They need to be CPR certified, have a CDA, a CCP, and be first-aid
