“If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today”(Nhat Hanh). Parents can destroy their children's hope with alcohol and comments. Therefore, the parents can scare their children from birth. Children learn what is right and wrong from their parents. In the book, The Pigman by Paul Zindel, creates hardships that the characters overcome by coming together. Many hardships tear them down like: John and Lorraine’s parents betraying them, Mr.Pignati’s trust betrayed at a party, and Bobo, the monkey, dieing. Hardships can make a big change in someone’s life. Children can be scarred for life. Parent’s behaviors and comment can ruin their children’s future and how they think about life. In the book, John states, “... I’d
