Harry Potter, the Chosen One & The Boy Who Lived, marries his best friend’s sister Ginny Weasley at the end of the Harry Potter series. I, however believe that Luna Lovegood and Harry were meant to be together. I can argue that Luna and Harry understand each other at a level no one else could, that Luna supported Harry, and that the both of them need each other. Luna had never spoken a word to Harry until their fifth year in Hogwarts. In the book they meet on the Hogwarts Express train when Harry and Ron didn’t have a place to sit. In the movie they meet on a carriage ride, the carriage is pulled by a mystical creature that only Luna and Harry could see, so they bond over that. Luna tells Harry that they can see the creature because they had seen death, she then tells him of when she saw her mother die, and Harry finally had someone who understood what it was like to lose a parent. Luna and Harry barely knew each other, but Luna helped him get his story out about how he had seen Lord Voldemort the year before. She asked her Xenophilius Lovegood, her father, to publish on his newspaper called The Quibbler. In their fifth year at Hogwarts Luna joins Dumbledore’s Army, a group created to defending themselves against the Dark Arts. Luna …show more content…

Though Harry was having a rough day and he had to play Quidditch, Luna cheered him up “Harry could hear Luna's ludicrous lion hat roaring amidst the Gryffindor cheers and felt heartened…” (Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). Little things that Luna did made Harry smile even when he was at his lowest. Luna also never hesitates to tell Harry when she thinks he may be doing something wrong, whereas Harry is there for Luna and doesn’t discourage her for being different. Luna finally had someone who would accept her for who she is and doesn’t try to change her. Together, they kept each other
