“The Japanese began the war from the air at Pearl Harbor. They have been repaid many fold.” Harry S. Truman, our thirty-third president of United States. On April 12, 1945, Harry S. Truman became a president after Franklin D. Roosevelt's died unexpectedly. President Truman born on May 8th, 1884 in Lamar Missouri. When Harry S. Truman became a president he had five option that he can do. His first option is that continued what the U.S doing which is bombing. I disagree with this option because even though the US keeping bombing there were no affected. For example Tokyo Fire raids, US kept dropping the bomb in Tokyo. This event cause 600,000 Japanese lose their lives and it leaves lots of damage. Japanese still not surrender and it was almost completely destroyed. His second option is to invade Japanese mainland. I disagree this decision because is going to takes a long time and there is high rate of casualties. Because when you invade something you have to fight and when you fight there will be people died and it'll rise the casualties up from both sides. His third option is Island Hopping ( strategies ). I also disagree with the option it's like the second option. It’ll take time and high casualties. His fourth decision is to drop atomic bomb. I agree with this option. Before Harry Truman took an office, he didn’t know anything about the atomic bomb until. The Secretary of War Henry Stimson proposal to him about the Manhattan Project the first nuclear weapon.
