Martin Luther King once said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Love is stronger than hate and can defeat anything. Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet are about two young lovers who families are in a feud whose love for each other conquers the hate between them. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, the Montagues and Capulets have been in a feud for the longest time. One day Romeo decides to sneak into a Capulet party to see Rosaline, the girl he is in love with before he meets Juliet. Even though the there family is in a feud they both decide they want to marry each other. So, the next day, they have Friar Lawrence marry them. The next day, Romeo is out with Mercutio and Benvolio when Tybalt comes. Tybalt and Mercutio get into a fight and Tybalt kills Mercutio. As a result of his anger, Romeo kills Tybalt. Romeo is then banned from Verona, Italy. Juliet is later informed that Tybalt is killed and she is heartbroken. Later she is told that Romeo killed Tybalt and she becomes ferrous but after she finds out Romeo was banned and her love for Romeo conquers the anger she had. Later that night, Romeo sneaks out to see Juliet for the last time in Verona. They spend the night with each other and in the morning Romeo sneaks out of Verona. Juliet is extremely heartbroken and goes to see Friar Lawrence. While with Friar Lawrence she decides without Romeo she has no point on living any longer and tries to kill herself. Friar Lawrence stops her, and they come up with a plan to fake her death with a sleeping potion so she can sneak away to be with Romeo. They try to inform Romeo, but the letter fails to send and instead of hearing the plan he hears his wife Juliet has died. Heartbroken Romeo buys poison and decides to kill himself next to Juliet’s
